How do you transfer album art from itunes to your ipod when you got the songs off a cd?

The cd is a few leaked songs that my friend gave me. The cover art is on my playlist on the computer but isn’t transferring over to my ipod for some reason. Usually I just get my songs off itunes so this isn’t a problem but it’s not working this time. Anyone got any ideas?
