What is the easiest form of art to start with for a beginner?

I think I’ve heard watercolors. I want to learn on my own. Do you recommend getting an art kit and learning on your own, without having to follow much written instruction? What would you suggest drawing or painting for a beginner? I want to do the best form of art for a beginner, so that it looks good, not like a little kid’s art work. Thx!

What canvas works best for folk art with different textures such as shingles and outdoor carpet?

I assume the different attachments will be applied with glue so what would make the best canvas? I have seen plywood used as a canvas in some folk art in a local gallery, but that seems a bit too primitive.

How do I price art that someone wants me to create for their organization?

Word is going throughout the city that I live in about my paintings. I haven’t sold any yet, but they are now on display. A local organization wants me to create a peice of art that they can use for t-shirts for their ’cause’. If I do a painting and sell them the picture (digital) who owns the rights? And if I keep the original painting and the rights, then are they allowed to use the art for anything other than tee-shirts? Any suggestions?
