What is the difference between altered art and recycled art?

Isn’t altered art the same as recycled art because you are taking something that exsits for another purpose and making it into new art?

    Actual, pure art is not for a certain purpose. It’s purpose is different depending on who is experiencing the art. Art is an expression open to any and all interpretation. It cannot be recycled or altered. It just is. Its alive.
